Evelyn Rogers – obituary

Evelyn Rogers, 85, of Whittier passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Bertha McLean Davis and wife of the late John E. Rogers. She was a member of Whittier Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Earl Rogers.

She is survived by one son, Thomas Rogers of Red Bank, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Thomas W. Rogers Jr. (Jennifer) of Calhoun, Tenn., and Anthony W. Rogers of Red Bank, Tenn. She was expecting her first great granddaughter, Arabella Rebecca Rogers. She was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews including Eddie Welch of the Wolftown Community in Cherokee.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, April 19 in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Max Cochran and Ray Fox will officiate with an Eastern Star graveside service at Sherrill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-8pm Monday and from 12-2pm Tuesday at the funeral home.

 


Melissa Ann Miller – obituary

Melissa Miller 2Melissa Ann Miller, 35, of Cherokee, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016.  She was born March 25, 1981 in Bryson City to Betty Mashburn Miller.

Melissa was a chef at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino.

She is survived by her mother, Betty Miller; husband, Flea George; her children, Jade Miller, Peyton George, and Paige George; one sister, Karen (Jamie) Cook; two nieces; one nephew; one new great niece; and numerous friends and family.

Melissa was preceded in death by her grandparents, Alene and Coy Mashburn.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 19 from 4-6pm at Long House Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow the visitation at 6 pm with Rev. Marty Pressley officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to help pay funeral expenses.

Leland Welch – obituary

OBIT - Leland WelchLeland Welch, 69, of the Jackson Branch Community in Robbinsville, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at his residence. He was the son of the late Larch and Stacy Crowe Welch.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sydney Jackson; brother, Everett Welch; and father-in-law, Clarence Jackson.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannie Jackson Welch of Robbinsville; sons and daughters-in-law, Freelin and Tracie Welch of Cherokee, Freeman Welch of Coleman, Fla., Shane and Jessica Welch of Robbinsville; his daughters, Stephanie Bridges and Shelby Jackson, both of Robbinsville; brothers, Frank Welch of Sisseton, SD, Richard Welch of Cherokee, Jimmy Welch of Robbinsville, and Jack Teesateskie of Robbinsville; and mother-in-law, Betty Jackson of Robbinsville.

His grandchildren are Reginald Welch, Michelle Junaluska, Fala Welch, Mahala Welch, Skyler Welch, Sarah Wachacha, Dalton Welch, Justice Welch, Tashina Welch, Mallory Welch, Paden Welch, Tayen Bridges, Tylie Bridges, Tacey Bridges, Tavok Bridges, Amiyah Collins, JaeLee Jackson and Ansley Jackson. He has four great grandchildren including McKynlee Adams, Rory Wachacha, Isabella Welch and Iva Welch.

Funeral services will be held at 7pm on Wednesday, April 20 at Little Snowbird Baptist Church. The Reverend Paul Teasdale will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm at the church, prior to and after the service at the church. Committal services will be held at 11am on Thursday, April 21 at Jackson Cemetery on Jackson Branch Road. Townson-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Kathryn “Bopeep” Frances Verran (Crowe) – obituary

OBIT - Kathryn VerranKathryn “Bopeep” Frances Verran (Crowe) passed away on April 15, 2016 in Grapevine, Texas at Baylor Medical Center. She was born in Cherokee on July 11, 1938.  She was the daughter of the late Betty Crowe George.

Kathryn grew up in Cherokee, and in 1956 she left to attend Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, Kan. She returned to Cherokee and through a Native American relocation program, she then moved to Dallas, Texas where she met Ralph Peter Verran at a Methodist Church. They married on May 5, 1962 and moved to Grapevine, Texas. She resided in Grapevine and Southlake Texas for the past 50 years. Kathryn has volunteered and been a member of numerous organizations throughout her life; her last was a volunteer at a retirement facility assisting the elderly.

Kathryn is remembered for her nurturing spirit, sense of humor, generosity, and her endless love for her family, relatives, and friends. Kathryn made great effort to keep in contact with everyone and she was loved by all. She brought joy to all whose hearts she touched.

Kathryn is survived by her sons, Darrell Verran of Grapevine, Texas, and his children Talor Damm, Cody Verran, and Sam Jones, Randy Verran and his wife Alison of Colorado Springs, Colo., their children Autumn and Norah Verran, and her two sisters Donette Lossiah of Cherokee, and Aubry Bigmeat of Cherokee.

In addition to her mother, Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Verran; her three brothers, Sonny, Inky and Don Crowe; and a sister, Glenda C. Niccum.

Kathryn has been laid to rest at Dallas-Ft Worth National Cemetery with her husband Ralph.

 

James Oren Thompson III – obituary

James Oren Thompson III, 71, of Whittier, passed away Friday, April 22, 2016 at the Tsali Care Center in Cherokee.

He was born Feb. 12, 1945 in Camden, SC to the late James Oren Thompson II and Donald Beatrice Anderson Thompson.

James worked on the production line at Union Carbide Corporation in Charlotte.

He is survived by two daughters, Crystal Thompson and Tammy Thompson; five brothers, John, Lloyd, Donald, and Randy Thompson; and three sisters, Betty Ann Beam, Gail Beam, and Crystal Blake.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by one brother, William Thompson; and one sister, Elaine Thompson.

No services are planned.

Edith Dougherty Rowan – obituary

Edith Dougherty Rowan, 98, of Whittier passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at her home.  Edith was born Nov. 22, 1917 in Philadelphia, Pa. to the late Francis Rowan and May Hall Rowan.

Edith worked in Medical Records for several years.

She is survived by her daughter, Meredyth Lawson of the home; two grandchildren, Charles Lawson and Mary Southards; four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

No services are planned.  Family request in lieu of flowers that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee  38105.

Sallie Smith Bradley – obituary

OBIT - Sallie BradleySallie Smith Bradley, 102, passed peacefully on April 29, 2016.

She was born March 7, 1914 to the late Artie Hornbuckle Smith and Samuel Abraham Smith. Sallie was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Seaborn Bradley; son, David Bradley; and daughter, Lydia Marie Bradley.

She is survived by son, Marvin Thomas Bradley(Sadie); two grandchildren, Vita Nations and Tommy Bradley; two great grandchildren, Sabrina Arch (Ethan) and Davy Bradley (Talisa); four great-great grandchildren,  James “Coug” and Noah Arch,  Seaborn and Eliza Jane Bradley, all of Cherokee; and also one sister, “candy” Maness of Siler City.

Also preceding Sallie in death were brothers, Jim, Frank, Martin, and Levi Smith; sisters, Tiny Toineeta, Margaret Ratliff, Florene Fagg, and Minnie Feather; half brothers, Joe, Henry, Blaine, Goldman, Jess, John and David Smith; and half sisters, Susie Smith Brady and Belva Smith Owle.

She was a devoted wife, mother and member of the Calico Church of Jesus Christ. Sallie loved quilting, vegetable gardening, driving her car and most well known for her cooking and love of hats.

A visitation will be held Monday, May 2 from 10-11am at Cherokee United Methodist Church with funeral service at 11am.  Pastor James “Bo” Parris and Rev. John Ferree will officiate. Interment will be in the Standingwolfe Memorial Gardens by her house.

Joseph “Joey” Russell Parker

OBIT - JoeyParkerOn Wednesday, April 27, 2016, heaven welcomed a very special angel.  Joseph “Joey” Russell Parker, 53, of Cherokee, passed away at Harris Regional hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Although Mr. Parker was a jack of all trades, he will always be the one and only Mayor of River Valley Campground.  Joey was a member of Cherokee Baptist Church and will be greatly missed by the congregation.

Joey is survived by his sisters, Myra Parker Cloer (husband Mike) and Kym M. Parker (Becky); his very special babygirl, niece Kristina Cloer; all of his favorite cousins, aunts and uncles. Joey also leaves behind many, many friends.

Joey is preceded in death by his parents, Jerome Parker and Dyxye S. Parker.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 30 at River Valley Campground.  Burial was at the Parker Cemetery located on Becks Branch.  Pastor Percy Cunningham officiated, and the Cherokee Enterprises, Inc. employees acted as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made Qualla Boundary Special olympics c/o Brandon Elders, 1679 Blanton Branch Rd, Sylva NC, 28789.

Katie Panther – obituary

OBIT - Katie PantherKatie Panther, 92, of the Big Cove Community, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, May 6, 2016 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Jonah and Minda Wolfe. She was a great homemaker and loving grandmother that loved raising all of her grandchildren. She also enjoyed making white oak baskets and tending to her many pets.  Katie was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Panther Sr.; one brother, Ned Wolfe; one sister, Ollie Crowe; one son, Julius F. Taylor; grandchildren, Kimberley Kay Panther, Natalie Denise Panther, Darrin Nicole Panther, Prestyn R-ly Panther, two great grandsons, and four stepchildren, Samuel “Snake” Panther, Wilma Pheasant, Charles Davis, and Frances Welch.

 

She is survived by three sisters, Lillian Crowe, Annie James, Dinah Wolfe; four daughters, Evelyn Wachacha (Wayne), Patricia Panther, Gloria Panther French, Deborah Panther (Johnny); four sons, Patrick Panther (Sharyn), Richard Panther (Kathie), Kenneth Panther (Diane), James Panther (Trina); six stepchildren, Ernest Panther, Floyd Panther, Alice Kekahbah, Alma Johns, Norleen Panther, and Hattie Panther; 29 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren; four special grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  

 

Funeral Services were held on Sunday, May 8 at the Big Cove Recreation Center. Revs. James (Bo) Parris, Charles Ray Ball, and Foreman Bradley officiated with burial in the Panther Family Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers were family members.

Ned Davis Welch Jr. – obituary

Ned Davis Welch Jr., 70, passed away after a period of declining health on May 6, 2016 at Tsali Care Center. He was a long time resident of the Big Cove community.

Ned was born Feb. 4, 1946 in Philadelphia, Pa. and grew up in Mechanicsburg, Pa. and Trenton, NJ. He was a bus driver by trade for many years in Trenton, NJ and Cherokee, NC, where he drove for the Qualla Public Transportation (QPT). He retired from Qualla Housing in 2005. He enjoyed family, traveling, and making crafts in his spare time.

Ned is preceded in death by his father, Ned Rudolph Welch Sr.; mother, Ethel Sue Wahneetah Welch; and sister, Ataloah C. Welch Laney. He is survived by son, MSgt David N. Welch and wife Sheryl; daughter, Amy S Welch Wilson and husband Rich; son, Ned D. Welch and wife Stephanie; and sister, Helen Welch Bottchenbaugh. He also leaves behind two grandsons, four granddaughters,  two great-grandsons, two great-granddaughters, companion Janice Owle, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Visitation will begin at 4pm on Wednesday, May 11 with services starting at 5pm at Crisp Funeral Home in Bryson City.

 

Beth Charlene Cabe – obituary

Beth was born Dec. 13, 1966 in Cherokee to Betty George and the late Robert D. Cabe.  She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her mother, Betty George; three daughters, Natasha Swayney, Samantha Gunter, and Sierra Gunter; three grandchildren, Julian Martin, Jordyn Martin, Brandon Martin Jr., and Javian Martin; one brother, Rick Cabe; and her favorite little dog named Sissie.

In addition to her father, Beth was preceded in death by one brother, Robert O. Cabe.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 11 from 5-9pm  at Long House Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 12 at 12noon at Long House Funeral Home with Revs. Dan Conseen and James “Bo” Parris officiating.  Burial will follow at the Manley George family cemetery.

 

 

 

Mary Inez Smith – obituary

Mary Inez Smith, 79, originally from Thomasville, Ga., went home to be with the Lord on May 10, 2016 in Sylva.

She was a member of East Side Baptist Church in Thomasville where she helped in many areas and served as nursery director for several years. She attended Acquoni Baptist Chapel in Cherokee while living with her daughter, Penny.

She worked at Zesto’s Drive-in for 17 years and Dogwood Gifts Baskets and Florist for 11 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Edward Atkinson and Mary Jane Odom; brothers, Johnny Atkinson and Eddie Atkinson; father of her children, Dale Richard Smith; and sons, Edward Michael Floyd and Timothy Stephen Smith.

She is survived by her children, John (Diana) Smith of Tucson, Ariz., Janet (Robert) Knight of Thomasville, Ga. and Penny (Victor) Betts of Whittier;  eight grandchildren, Penny (Kenny) Glass of Moultrie, Ga., John Smith of Tucson, Ariz., Heather (Dilawar) Rodrigues of Thomasville, Ga., Julie Smith of Tucson, Ariz., Denise Dukes of Putney, Ga., Heidi Smith of Tuscon, Ariz., Daniel Betts of Tucson, Ariz., and Tanner Betts of Whittier; seven great grandchildren, Nicole and Nicholas Glass, Meredith and Jayden Rodrigues, R.J., Pearson and Isabella Dukes; and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Friday, May 13 from 6-8pm at Allen & Allen Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at East Side Baptist Church on Saturday, May 14 at 2pm.  Rev. J. Tim Robson and Dr. Ed Kilgore to officiate and interment to follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Barwick, Ga.

A memorial service will be held at 6pm on Sunday, May 22 at Acquoni Baptist Chapel in Cherokee. Rev. Ed Kilgore will officiate.

Lillian Junaluska Thompson – obituary

Lillian Junaluska Thompson, 84, of the Birdtown Community, went home to be with the Lord peacefully at her residence Wednesday, May 11, 2016. A native of Cherokee, she was the daughter of the late Sim Jessan and Emaline Blythe Junaluska, and husband of the late Lawrence Thompson whom she was married to for 58 years.

 

She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sarah Larraine Thompson; sisters, Martha Taylor, Sally Locust, Winnie Mae Cole, Shirlene Jessan, Elanore Jessan; brothers, Mark and Arch Junaluska; and special son, Thomas J. Owl.

 

She is survived by four daughters, Marie Watty and husband Joseph, Patricia Welch and husband Charles, Willie Conseen and husband Wes, and Lou Thompson; one sister, Mildred Jessan Queen and husband David; eight grandchildren, Diane, Michael, Will, Martha, Denise, Charlie, Matt, and David; 20 great grandchildren; special children, Soloman David Owl, William Eugene Owl, and Dana Jones; very special friend, Rose Marley and daughter, Mary Jane; and many nieces and nephews.

 

Lillian retired from the Eastern Bank of Cherokee Indians with 30 years of service as a Community Health Representative. She enjoyed her retirement traveling to Pow Wow’s with her husband and children. She was also a fluent speaker of the Cherokee language.

 

The family will receive friends from 6-9pm on Friday, May 13 at Crisp Funeral Home.

John Sidney Ferguson – obituary

John Sidney Ferguson, 65, of Sylva, passed away May 9, 2016 at his residence. John is the son of the late Virgil Smith Ferguson and Lucy Burdette Ferguson.

John is survived by his children, Wendy Ferguson James (husband Don), Kellie Ferguson (husband Robert Allen) and John Ferguson, all of Locust Grove, Ga.; one sister, Jan Coggins (husband Harold Coggins) of Sylva; and six grandchildren.

John is preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 20, 2016 at the Fall Cliff Cemetery located in Cullowhee starting at 1pm.

Janet Long Beck – obituary

Janet Long Beck, 81, of Cherokee, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, May 13, 2016. She was born in Clay County and was a lifelong resident of the Qualla Boundary in Cherokee.  She was the daughter of the late J.C. and Ethel Long. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jim Beck; granddaughter, Stephanie Beck; and a brother, J.C. Long Jr.

She was a member of Cherokee Baptist Church. She had a passion working with children in the Cherokee Elementary School and Tribal Day Care.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Tim Beck; three daughters, Julie Maney and husband Kenneth of Cherokee, Jeanne Beck of Cherokee, and Jilinda Beck and Lance of Cherokee; two sons, Jack Beck of Cherokee, and Joey Beck of Cherokee; one special companion Puggie; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one brother, Melvin “Buddy” Long and wife Sharon; one sister, Brenda Morgan and husband Jim; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held 2pm on Monday, May 16 at Cherokee Baptist Church. Revs. Percy Cunningham and Richie Sneed will officiate with burial in the Beck Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5-10pm Sunday, May 15 at the Church.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Darrell “Disco” Dwight Ross – obituary

Darrell “Disco” Dwight Ross, 57, of Cherokee, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016.

He was born Aug. 19, 1958 to the late Leroy and Martha Ross.  Darrell was a member of Straight Fork Baptist Church.  If you had time to listen, Darrell loved to testify.  He loved all outdoor activities, where he assisted others year round by cutting grass, cutting wood, and farming.  He loved fishing, spending time with his family at Sunday dinner, and for years, playing fast pitch.  He had a lot of friends and family whom he loved very much.  He especially loved all the children.

At Christmas, he would dress up as Santa Claus.  Darrell spent time with the cancer group, as long as his health would allow him.  Darrell will be missed in so many aspects.  But, he would want all of us to rejoice because he went to his heavenly home to be with his mother and the rest of his loving family.

Darrell is survived by one son, Delbert D. Ross (Sherri); two grandsons, Kyle and Jason; one granddaughter, Whitney; one great granddaughter, Aaliyah; a special nephew, Shyne Ross; and two sisters, Florence Lewis (Barry) and Candy Ross (Mark).

In addition to his parents, Darrell was preceded in death by one sister, Gwen R. Locust; one aunt, Maggie Lossiah; and two uncles, Woodrow and Noah Lossiah.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 16 at 2pm at Straight Fork Baptist Church.  Rev. Charles Ray Ball, Rev. James “Bo” Parris and Rev. Red Bradley will officiate.  Burial will follow at the Lossiah family cemetery.

Lavon Hyatt – obituary

Lavon Hyatt, 58, of the Big Cove Community in Cherokee, went to his Heavenly home on Sunday, May 15, 2016. Lavon was a native of the Laurel Branch Community in Bryson City. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandpa Von, uncle, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed.

He was a former employee of the Western Steer Family Steakhouse in Cherokee for over 20 years and went into early retirement due to health reasons. He was a member of Straight Fork Baptist Church where he previously held the offices of Sunday School teacher and superintendent for a number of years. He also was the Training Union director and adult class teacher, as well as the Vacation Bible School director. He loved his church. He enjoyed watching NASCAR racing, particularly Dale Earnhardt Jr. and was also a Carolina Tar Heels fan as well as a New England Patriots fan. He also enjoyed working on his ‘56 Chevy.

Lavon was the son of the late Felix and Inez Earley Hyatt of Bryson City.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Gloria West Hyatt; one daughter, Kristina Lynn Hyatt; and sons, Jeremy Lavon Hyatt and wife Caroline, and Steven Hyatt and wife Vangie, all of Cherokee; two special grandsons, Reggie Vahn and Kedron Felix Hyatt, a special great-niece Shelby Solis; one granddaughter and a great grandchild; brothers, Hershel Hyatt, William Hyatt, and Michael Harlan; and sisters, Lillian Hyatt and Dean Hyatt, all of Bryson City. Several nieces and nephews also survive, along with the family cat, Peabody.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, May 18, beginning at 5pm until midnight at Straight Fork Baptist Church in Big Cove. Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon beginning at 2pm, with the Rev. Charles Ray Ball and Bro. Steve Smith of Good News Baptist Church in Candler. Pallbearers will be Nika West, Nathan Garcia, Charlie Watty, Lupe Solis, Mike Ball, Clinton Messer, Damian Solis, and Joseph Solis.

R. Steven Rice – obituary

steve riceR. Steven Rice, 53, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 25, 2016.

He was born Aug. 3, 1962 in Macon County.

He worked for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America in Cherokee and Snowbird Youth Centers as a Development/Fundraising Officer. He moved to Choctaw, Miss. to open Clubs for the youth there and ended his career with B&GCA in North Central Georgia.

His goal in life was to work with and help children and families.

He is survived by his parents, Ralph and Linda Rice; brother Phil Rice and Sandi; and sister Joan Welch and Jeff; three nieces, MeLisa, Britany, and Katie; two nephews, Christopher and Jacob; and special friends, Sam and Helga.

A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, April 30 at the Clarks Chapel Methodist Church.  Donations can be made to the church and family, Ralph & Linda Rice 754 Lake Emory Rd Franklin, NC 28735.

 

William H. Kanott – obituary

William H. Kanott, 95, of Cherokee, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at the Cherokee Indian Hospital.

He was born Dec. 11, 1920 in Cherokee to the late Columbus Kanott and Vinnie Seay Kanott.  William was a coal miner for 40 years.  He was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Navy.  He was a strong Carolina Panthers, Carolina Tarheels, and Cubs fan.

William is survived by his children, Patricia “Tootie” Lambert, Billie Jean “Cookie” Wolfe (husband Noah), Kathy “Rock” Burgess, Nancy Wahnetah (husband Rob), Mark “Moe” Kanott (wife Chris), Dennie Kanott, and Brad Kanott (wife Ellita), all of Cherokee and Brenda Kanott of Colorado; one brother, Johnny Kanott; 16 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi Jackson Kanott; son, Eddie Kanott; grandsons, Xavier Otter, John Burgess, and Kevin Long; and daughter-in-law, Francis Kanott.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 20 at Acquoni Baptist Church from 5-11pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 21 at 11am.  Burial will follow at the Jackson Cemetery with William’s grandsons as Pall Bearers. Pastor Ed Kilgore and Ray Kinsland will officiate.

OBIT - Charles BroganCharles Regan “Chuck” Brogan Jr., 73, of Whittier, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 17 after a very courageous and long battle with cancer. He was born April 6, 1943 in Midland, Pa.

Chuck was a graduate of St. Petersburg Junior College, St. Petersburg, Fla. in psychology. He did drug counseling in St. Petersburg and led divorced, separated and widowed Catholic groups in the St. Petersburg area for several years. He worked for Sears for 13 years in Florida before moving permanently in 1979 to the Smoky Mountains that he’d loved since his teenage years. In Whittier, he co-owned with his wife Mary, the Misty Mountain Motel, Brer Rabbit Nursery School, and had the franchise for Lincoln Log Homes. In 1984, he went to work for Eckerd Drugs for 13 years. Chuck finished out his work career from 1997-08 retiring from Harrah’s Cherokee Casino after 11 years.

Chuck was a family man who loved all his children, loved traveling, and fixing anything broken. In recent years, he loved his Bible Studies at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Brogan; his children, Therese Tubbs (Glenn), Suzy O’Connell (Bruce), Mike Brogan (Kim), Angela Stone (Edgar), Marianne Ward (Rory), Lisa Statton (Jason), and Chris Brogan (Ines); his grandchildren, Ryan, Natalie, Ellen, Hannah, Collin, Sean, Brandon, Kyndall, Tia, Samantha, Maggie, Brogan, Lillie, and Tori; one great-grandchild, Gage Ward; one brother, Terry Brogan (Peggy); two sisters, Patty Gaston (Gary) and Peggy Roberts (Bob); and one sister-in-law, Betty O’Neil, sister of Mary.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Brogan Sr. and his mother, Mabel Brogan.

The honorary pallbearers are his sons-in-law Glenn Habib, Bruce O’Connell, Edgar Stone, Rory Ward, and Jason Statton.
