Martha Junaluska Taylor, 98, of the Birdtown Community went home to be with the Lord Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014 in a Cherokee Healthcare facility. A native of Cherokee, she was the daughter of the late James and Emaline Blyth Junaluska, and wife of the late Dave Taylor. Preceded in death by two brothers, Mark and Arch Junaluska and two sisters, Sallie Locust and Winnie Cole.
She is survived by four children; Betsy Taylor, Sam Taylor, Jonah Taylor, and Truman Taylor all of Cherokee; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; many great great grandchildren; one sister Lilian Thompson of Cherokee.
Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Sunday, Oct. 26 at Bethabara Baptist Church. Rev. Eddie Sherrill and James (Bo) Parris will officiate with burial in the Birdtown Cemetery.
She will be taken to the church at 4pm on Saturday, Oct. 25 by Crisp Funeral Home to await the hour of service. Grandsons will be pallbearers.
