Steve “Frog” George, 67 of 9 Blue Wing Church Road, Cherokee, North Carolina went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Jan. 13, 2014 at Cherokee Medical Facility.
He was self-employed in the food service business and paint and body business. He was a paint and body instructor for the Cherokee Boys Club and was a Tribal Council Representative for the Wolfetown Community. He enjoyed fellowship with his family and friends.
He is survived by son, Steven George of Cherokee; daughters, Marsha Ensley, husband Denny Ensley and Tina George, both of Cherokee.
He has two grandchildren, Cody and Shelby George of Bryson City. He has two sisters, Nonnie Crowe of Cherokee and Zena Wolfe, husband Melvin Wolfe of Cherokee; two brothers, Jeremiah Long of Cherokee and Jim Long, companion Kissi Hornbuckle of Cherokee. He has two special friends, Frank Ross and Christopher Crutchfield.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Thursday, Jan. 16 at Towstring Baptist Church. Pastor JT Lambert, Danny Lambert and Rex Morelock will officiate with burial in the Towstring Cemetery.
He will be taken to the church at 4pm on Wednesday by Crisp Funeral Home to await the hour of service.
There will be a Flag Ceremony held by the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians in Steve’s honor during the funeral service.
Paul bearers will be Frank Ross, Ervin Crowe, Brian Parker, Jason Parker, Matthew Smith, Paul Smith, and Christopher Crutchfield.
